If you produce food waste, we have collection and container services to meet your business needs.

Legal rules for food waste collections

From March 2025, all businesses with 10 employees or more must get their food waste collected separately. If you don't comply, you could be fined or prosecuted.

Our food waste collection services can be tailored to support small businesses through to large companies.

We can schedule collections to suit your business needs.

Our containers include:

• 140 litre wheeled bins
• 23 litre containers for small businesses, offices or for moving waste in your building

If you use our other recycling or rubbish collections, there is an exclusive intro offer when you sign up for food waste services.

We can collect any raw or cooked food waste

• ✅ Plate scrapings: all uneaten food and plate scrapings
• ✅ Dairy: cheese, eggs and eggshells
• ✅ Bread, cakes, and pastries
• ✅ Fruit and vegetables: raw, cooked, whole, peelings, mouldy or rotting
• ✅ Tea bags and coffee grounds
• ✅ Meat and bones, raw meat, cooked meat, bones
• ✅ Fish: raw or cooked fish and bones
• ✅ Rice, pasta and beans

What we cannot take:

• ❌ Packaging of any kind, even if it says it's compostable or biodegradable
• ❌ Liquids such as milk, yoghurt, juice
• ❌ Oil or other liquid fats
• ❌ Plastic carrier bags of any type
• ❌ Plastic tea bags
